Home / Blog / Bloemencorso Bollenstreek 2021 cancelled due to coronavirus (COVID-19)

Spring is coming and we have probably never looked forward to it more than in 2021. Fields of tulips in bloom and birds singing. Yet spring in 2021 will be different than usual. The Flower Parade will not be driving from Noordwijk to Haarlem on Saturday 17 April. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not possible to let this large-scale public event go ahead.

After the Flower Parade of 2020 had to be cancelled at the last minute, it was expected that the Flower Parade of 2021 would go ahead. Unfortunately, it turned out that the COVID-19 pandemic will make large-scale public events impossible in the spring of 2021 as well. The large Bloemencorso parade attracts more than a million people every year and unfortunately it will not be possible this year.

Still celebrating spring

Although the Flower Parade will not be driving, we are looking forward to the start of spring. The flower fields with daffodils, hyacinths and tulips will start to bloom. The Keukenhof flower park has made all the arrangements to open in a controlled fashion, and various small-scale initiatives are hoping, depending on the measures taken in the spring, to be able to allow a limited number of visitors to enjoy the spring.
