DESCRIPTION:SAR KATWIJK CANCELLED \n\n\n\nDue to the expected severe weather with code yellow for the Dutch coast on Saturday 6 July\, the organisers of SAR Katwijk have unfortunately had to decide to cancel SAR Katwijk 2024. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSAR Katwijk is the annual open day of the Rescue Brigade in Katwijk Beach. From 10.00 to 16.00 hours there is a spectacular programme on land\, at sea and in the air. SAR Katwijk is an annual event organised by the Katwijk Rescue Brigade (KRB). During the day\, the various participants demonstrate their activities in the field of rescue work. The KRB\, in collaboration with the Royal Dutch Rescue Society\, Police\, Katwijk Fire Brigade\, Regional Ambulance Service Hollands-Midden\, NHV\, PHDC\, Coastguard and many others\, provides a day-long programme for both young and old. \n\n\n\nProgramme SAR Katwijk 2022\n\n\n\nSAR Katwijk 2022 promises to be another spectacular show with a packed programme\, so make a note of Saturday 2 July in your diary! During this ‘Search and Rescue Event’\, a large number of organisations from the emergency services chain will be present. Throughout the day (from 10:00 – 16:00) various demonstrations will be given at the demonstration area on the Boulevard and the demonstration area on the beach. Various flight movements will take place on the helipad at the end of the Zuid-Boulevard during the day. \n\n\n\nThe organisation is currently still busy inviting participants and making an inventory of which demos the various organisations can and want to give. The scenario for SAR Katwijk 2022 will follow at a later stage. \n\n\n\nMap of SAR Katwijk\n\n\n\nThe activities at SAR Katwijk take place on and around the Boulevard near the Vuurtoren in Katwijk. On the demonstration area on the beach and on the Boulevard (junction Boulevard and Vuurbaakplein) there are various demonstrations during the day. The helipad can be found at the end of the Zuid-Boulevard. Furthermore\, there is an extensive static show with beach and various vehicles on the Boulevard. At the beginning of August\, the castle gardens of Keukenhof transform into a party for young and old\, where you step into another world as soon as you pass through the gates. Castlefest is a total experience with lots of music\, fantasy writers\, catering in style\, medieval crafts and a large market with everything the Fantasy lover is looking for. \n\n\n\nA large number of bands will perform on the various festival stages\, from Pagan Folk to World music\, from Medieval Rock to Indie. In short\, there is something for every music lover! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCastlefest is characterised by its special atmosphere. This makes regular visitors look forward to the next edition a year in advance. It creates a feeling of being in a completely different world for a few days\, which makes you feel homesick for the festival in the weeks that follow. \n\n\n\nThe Castlefest feeling is not easy to describe\, but something you have to experience for yourself. The annual highlight of the festival is the Wickerman burning. Together with visitors\, exhibitors\, caterers and the organisation\, you live up to the moment that the Wickerman is lit. The energy that is released at that moment is a special experience that should not be missed. \n\n\n\nFantasy festival Keukenhof\n\n\n\nCastlefest takes place from 31 July to 3 August 2025 at Keukenhof Castle in Lisse. \n\n\n\nOpening hours Castlefest\n\n\n\n\nThursday\, 31 July – The festival area surrounding the campsite is open from 10.00 to 24.00. \n\n\n\nFriday\, August 1 – The festival is open from 10.00 to 24.00. The market closes at 21.00.\n\n\n\nSaturday 2 August – The festival will be open from 10 a.m. to midnight. The market closes at 21.00.\n\n\n\nSunday 3 August – The festival will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The market will close at 6 p.m. The market closes at 18.00.\n\n\n\n\nWhen the market closes\, everyone can still hang out at the main stage. \n\n\n\nHow to get to Castlefest\n\n\n\nPublic transportation\n\n\n\nTo get to Castlefest by train travel to NS-station Hillegom. At the front of the station a shuttle bus will bring you to Castlefest. For this shuttle bus you have to buy a ticket. This ticket costs € 6\,00 for a return trip. Tickets can be bought in the advance sales shop or from the driver. You can pay to the driver with pin or cash. \n\n\n\nBy car & parking\n\n\n\nTravel to Keukenhof (Keukenhof 1 in Lisse) and in Lisse follow the signs Keukenhof. As every year\, you will not be allowed to bring food and drink to Castlefest. Now we will absolutely not whine about a few sandwiches and a bottle of drink\, but whole cooler bags full of food and drink\, crates and trays of beer will not be allowed. Other forms of alcohol will also be taken. The latter has to do with regulations and our catering licence. So we will not be as tight as\, say\, a Lowlands\, but we have to enforce these rules. We hope for your understanding.   Do I have to pay for my bike in the car park? No\, you don’t have to pay for your bike.   Are dogs also allowed to attend Castlefest? Dogs – if leashed – are allowed on the grounds.In the interest of animal welfare\, other animals are not allowed at Castlefest.   Is Castlefest wheelchair-friendly? The paths on the Keukenhof estate are often easily accessible for people in wheelchairs. In addition\, the stands are equipped with a ramp and a disabled toilet is available. Some dedicated parking spaces are available.   Can you withdraw money at the Castlefest site? During the event\, limited cash can be withdrawn at the box offices. This is allowed after about 12pm as long as there is enough cash available at the box offices.
