The Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem is a magnificent museum spread over two locations. The locations are a scenic 7-minute walk apart.
Location Hall
Location Hall of the Frans Hals Museum is the cultural hotspot on the Grote Markt and at the same time it is an architectural hotchpotch. This is because it is a mixture of three different buildings, all from a different century: the Meat Hall, the Fish House and the Verwey Hall.
Location Court
At location Hof, which now houses art treasures, originally housed old men. In the Golden Age, they enjoyed their golden years here. But since 1913, the city’s art collection has been displayed around the courtyard on Groot Heiligland, with numerous highlights from that same Golden Age.
