The new Naturalis museum is a combination of seeing, doing and experiencing. In the new museum rooms you will discover everything about the earliest life on earth, about the Netherlands in the ice age and about the primal forces of our earth. You will become acquainted with the most surprising tricks of plants and animals, face to face with an African elephant and discover the destructive power of volcanoes. You also experience life in the Dino time.
The new Naturalis immerses young and old in the wonderful world called nature. Go on a journey of discovery with your whole family in the new exhibition halls filled with the most beautiful in nature. The T. rex Trix dino is of course present and Freek Vonk is also present again.
Stories of nature
The stories in Naturalis are told on the basis of masterpieces from the collection of 42 million plants, animals, fossils and stones. The collection is among the top five in the world in terms of biodiversity. Scientific research contributes to the preservation of the rich variation of nature. You can experience this firsthand in the new Naturalis; you can ask the scientists questions, have your natural discovery examined and experience a preparation live.
