What is Madurodam?

Madurodam is a unique attraction in the city The Hague. You discover the Dutch cultural heritage and all the highlights of Holland. The park is divided into various themed areas.

Madurodam is famous for the exact replicas of Dutch buildings and constructions, on a scale of 1:25. But there is much more to do. In this small big city you learn everything about the fascinating cultural heritage of the Netherlands through multimedia displays and interactive installations. There are even 17 giant tulips to pose with.

Learn all about the Dutch history. Why do Dutch people wear clogs? Why are windmills so important? And how did the Dutch succeed in building this country from sea level? You will receive the answers to these questions during a visit to this park.

Visit the interactive installations and discover centuries-old canal houses, tulip fields, cheese markets, a wooden shoe factory, windmills, the Peace Palace, the Delta Works and much more!

Indoor attractions

Madurodam has indoor attractions where you can discover heroes and highlights of the Netherlands. For example, there is a special theater that takes you into the life story of war hero George Maduro. And don’t miss the new indoor attraction The Dutch Masters!

The new indoor attraction The Dutch Masters lets your imagination run wild! Jump into the star ball pit under Starry Night or dance among Leyster’s tulips.

De nieuwe binnenattractie De Hollandse Meesters laat je fantasie helemaal op hol slaan! Spring in de sterrenballenbak onder de Sterrennacht of dans tussen de tulpen van Leyster.

Hof van Nederland

There is also an attraction that lets you relive the story of the beginning of the country. In ‘Hof van Nederland’ you will be taken back to the First Free States Meeting in 1572 in Dordrecht.

That’s how big Orange football is

You can relive the winning of the European Championship in 1988 at the attraction ‘so large is Orange’. In this attraction you can admire the real cup.

Waterwolf

At the indoor attraction Waterwolf, you and the whole family go back in time to see the founding of New York in the 17th century. You will discover the Dutch roots that metropolis New York has.

Parking Madurodam

Madurodam is easily accessible by public transport and by car. It is only 45 minutes from Amsterdam and 25 minutes from Rotterdam. Trams and buses stop in front of the park and parking is around the corner. After your visit shopping or on to the beach? Within 5 minutes you are in the center of The Hague or with your feet in the sand of Scheveningen.

With the car to Madurodam

Are you coming to Madurodam by car? Then use your navigation system, plan your route via Google Maps or follow one of the route descriptions below.

From The Hague center (A12, A4) Follow the Madurodam signs until you reach the Hubertus Viaduct driveway. There you drive to the right onto the viaduct, keep driving to the right and take the next exit towards Madurodam. At the bottom of the exit, turn left (under the viaduct) and you will find the parking area on your right.

From Wassenaar / Amsterdam (A44 / N44, A4) Drive towards Madurodam via the N14 towards Scheveningen, ending at the Hubertus Viaduct. There you drive to the right onto the viaduct, keep driving to the right and take the next exit towards Madurodam. At the bottom of the exit, turn left (under the viaduct) and you will find the parking area on your right.

With public transport to Madurodam

Madurodam is easily accessible by public transport from The Hague Central and The Hague Hollands Spoor stations. From both stations you can reach the park within 10 minutes by tram or bus. Plan your trip via www.9292ov.nl.
