Opening hours Hortus Botanicus
The Hortus Botanicus Leiden is open all year round, with modified opening hours per season. From April to October, visitors are welcome from 10am to 6pm, and in the winter months (November to March) the garden is open from 10am to 5pm. The Hortus is closed on some public holidays, such as Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. For current opening hours and special events, it is recommended to check the Hortus website.

Parking Hortus Botanicus
The Hortus botanicus is located in the old city centre of Leiden. There are a number of car parks in the city centre and car parks on the outskirts of the city.

Free transport is available from the Haagweg city car park, and shuttle buses will take you up to 80 metres from the Hortus on request.

The Morspoortgarage is the newest car park in Leiden.
With public transport to Hortus Botanicus
From Leiden CS, you can walk to the Hortus in about 15 minutes. Follow the signs to the National Museum of Antiquities. The Hortus is diagonally opposite the museum on Rapenburg at number 73. The green cargo bike is outside the gate of the Academy Building.
