Do you want to know everything about flower bulb cultivation and enjoy art with bulb flowers? Then visit Museum De Zwarte Tulp in the center of Lisse

The museum, which was completely modernized in 2015, tells the story about flower bulb cultivation, bulb export and the process of propagating and refining bulbs. Of course you will also learn everything about important events from the history of tulip and other bulb crops such as the arrival of the tulip to Europe and the Netherlands, the tulip mania-tulip madness in the 17th century, the hyacinth speculation in the 18th century and of course the story of the black tulip.

Museum De Zwarte Tulp is located in a monument in Dorpshart Lisse that once served as a bulb shed. Part of the museum are the impressive early 20th-century boardrooms of Kalkzandsteenfabriek Van herwaarden BV – called the Comparitie.

In the museum garden, of course, there is a variety of bulb crops in season.

There is a museum shop. VVV Lisse is also located in Museum De Zwarte Tulp where you can find cycling routes and information about Lisse and its surroundings.
